Roughly 20cm of light new snow on top of the large ~60cm storm slab from last weekend. A slightly weak interface between them, but overall snowpack showed signs of stability. Still cautious with the storm slab beneath, as someone looks to have triggered a large size 3 in the East Peak bowl mid-week. I stated last weekend that the entire slope was suspect, but they didn't get the memo and chose to ride it anyways... hope they are okay... Dug a pit at lunch in a protected spot from wind and afternoon sun. Temperature readings from bottom of snowpack were close to zero as expected, surface was -7C. Gradient suggested stabilization thru ~130cm of snowpack. Last weekends storm slab seemed less dense and particles had started rounding process. Facets at depth and multiple weak layers deep are still cause for concern, despite general strengthening of sp. Rather consistent cool air temperature is helping with this. Sun had really affected the surface of south facing slopes tho, only rode that face of East Peak as we left. Eager folks dropped in from the top of the backside straight down avalanche paths. Surprisingly nothing was triggered... New snow expected to fall over today and tomorrow could make great skiing conditions if the right terrain is chosen.
