Burstall Pass Jan 14 2018. Ski quality was quite good with ~40cm of new powder this week. We were able to activate the top layer with relative ease ~45cm down on faceted layer in 2 snowpit tests. Depth near the pass 170cm. Got some fun turns in on <30 deg slopes below the pass. Good skin track all the way up, travel was unusually fast. Warm temps in late afternoon will likely deteriorate ski quality. Tracked out a lot of the fresh stuff from the pass - we did 3 laps and another group did 5 (or more?). A wonderful day out!

Recent slab avalanche below the cornice on the ridge of Snow Peak. Size 2. Leeward east facing slop. Caused by falling cornice.
