Mid-morning there was a short break in snowfall accompanied by broken clouds. Clouds and foggy weather along with trace amounts of snowfall followed for much of the day. Red Mountain Pass picked up 11" at pass level in the past 24 hours on top of 11" more inches of snow since December 25th. Average winds in the past 24 hours were around 18 mph at 12852ft with a peak gust of 52 mph reported at the Eagle weather station (Putney is down).
Snowpack
The Persistent Slab avalanche problem is reactive and widespread below treeline. The main ingredient required for triggering an avalanche is finding where the new snow has developed into a slab.

Natural bank slips observed along CR 110 and more natural activity near treeline. Hard to pick out crown lines of upper elevation naturals due to the visibility.
