Weather

On and off light snow (S-1) Overcast to broken all day Calm, no noticeable snow transport

Snowpack

It is still very shallow out there. West side of the ridge had an average height of snow (HS) 25-35 cm. East side of the ridge had a HS of 40-50cm. The ski and boot penetration was to the ground everywhere we traveled. Northwest through north to northeast facing slopes near tree line had a weak layer of well developed facets making up the bottom 10-20 cm of the snowpack, but no depth hoar was observed. All other slopes we traveled on, the new snow fell on bare ground or a few discontinuous crusts. The new snow has not developed into a cohesive slab yet. Snowpack tests showed easy failures along weak layer that did not propagate in long column tests.

Avalanche

We saw no avalanche activity today.
