At 11,000’ clear skies, no cloud cover. Breezy from west, some snow transport above treeline with cornices and rollovers forming along the ridge. Wind chill about -7C, ambient temperature 0C.
Snowpack
No snow pit tests. Snow depth on south aspect 10-20 cm (unskiable), north and easterly aspects 30-40 cm. No collapse, whomps, or cracks noted.
Avalanche
None observed on any aspect. Numerous ski tracks on nearby South Diamond Peak showed no avalanche activity. Attached photo is ridge north of Montgomery Pass, treeline is 10,500’, ridge line 11,300-11,600’.
