Weather

Mostly overcast with a short-lived glory holes of sun. Cool up high. Soupy conditions in the alpine, with better visibility as your descended out of the cloud deck around 11,300 ft.

Snowpack

Recent storm snow settled a bit to around 6 inches. Snow is right side up with low-density snow on top. Couldn't find evidence of wind-drifted snow even along the ridgelines up to around 12,000 ft. Underlying crusts were stout and supportable at all elevations, at least until we left mid afternoon. New snow a little sticky on sunny slopes below 10,000 ft on the way out. Expect all the new snow to easily shed of the crusts with the return of sunshine on Sunday.

Avalanche

Easily-triggered D1 sluffs in the new snow running on the crusts with ski pressure. Not a concern in all but very steep, extreme terrain.
