Weather

Sunny and warmer temps than valley bottoms. South facing slopes were getting wet snow

Snowpack

Surface hoar of .5-1cm on most snow surfaces except more steep south aspects. Valley floors in direct sunlight were holding surface hoar despite above freezing temps at dry lake snotel. Need to see how this layer makes it thru the next day before new snow on Sunday. Southerly aspects were getting wet and globbing up on skis and pole baskets. A tale of two very different snow surfaces.

Avalanche

A few wet slides on southeasterly 40+ degree slopes within the north fork of soda creek drainage, looked pretty fresh. Ran about 200-300ft.
