Weather

10" of new snow at the highway stake, very low density. Mostly clear skies and mild temps with light SW winds gave way to increasing clouds and overcast skies by late afternoon. Snowdepths; 46" at the highway stake, 32" at Snotel, 20" at the old highway stake.

Snowpack

Mostly facets of one sort or another. No signs of cracking or collapsing. When sufficient slab arrives the danger will increase.

Avalanche

Observed recent activity in the backcountry at this end of the NSJ zone was limited to two large (D2) slabs near and above treeline. Visibility was excellent.
