Recent snow and drifting is adding another layer of stiff snow to the top of the snowpack. I some spots with minor cracking. Cornices continue to grow.
Concerning layers remain the faceted snow in the lower third or half of the snowpack. The overlying slab has consolidated and is supportable to travelers on snowshoes or skis. Areas of older, wind-drifted snow are very hard. Snowpack tests are propagating along the interface between the slabs and faceted snow.
