Weather

6" of new snow with only 0.2" of water content. Storm total is 7"/0.25", 3.5%. Clouds moved in with snow showers after a brief period of mostly clear skies early. Temps stayed in the single digits with light SW winds.

Snowpack

Fewer signs of instability than were observed on Saturday. Minor cracking in the fattest wind pillows. However, several moderate collapses were observed on NW aspects near treeline where fresh surface windslab had formed.

Avalanche

Visibility was marginal, but enough to see no substantial natural activity. Observed activity was limited to small D1 sluffs out of steep rocky terrain in the local backcountry and along the highway corridor.
