Mostly cloudy skies became partly cloudy with some widely scattered snow showers around the east end of the zone by early afternoon. Temperatures in the teens early warmed to nearly 30F by mid-day at Pass level. 5" of new snow with 0.5" of water content measured this morning.
Snowpack
Observed isolated cracking (~3') in terrain (east at treeline) cross loaded by moderate northwest winds. No other signs of instability were observed. Windward slopes SW-W-NW held very little new snow and were often wind scoured at treeline.
Avalanche
No natural avalanche activity was observed along the highway corridor.
