Light snowfall all day, light to moderate snow transport near treeline, temps in the mid-teens with a moderate northwest wind.
Snowpack
On south aspect below treeline I found 2-3 inches of new snow on top of crusts 2-6 cm thick. Near treeline on east and southeast aspects the height of snow (HS) ranged between 70-130cm. The wind was loading east and southeast aspects where I found drifts of new snow 12-14 inches deep. Deeper drifts were not consistent across a slope. A snowpit dug on east aspect near treeline showed a 30cm slab over 20cm of fist hard facets. Several Extended Column Tests (ECTs) produced ECTX and a Propagation Saw Test (PST) produced results PST 59/100 END at 20cm, the layer of fist hard facets. A snowpit dug on southeast aspect also showed a roughly 30cm slab on top of 20cm of fist hard facets. ECTs on this slope also produced ECTX.
