Snowpack

The snowpack below treeline is quite weak and will not hold much of a load. Mother Cline is thin, with ice under a thin veneer of snow. While the path is not loaded, it will not hold a big load. The snow surface at ERN is firm and crusty from warm temps and sun between storms and volume there remains low. Our bigger paths continue to be fairly low volume. However, the Brooklyns are starting to be concerning as the volume there increases. We anticipate slides to become widespread below treeline first with this storm, then becoming larger and more dangerous in the near and above treeline areas as snow accumulates.
