A couple of alternating wind slabs over facets sit on top of 3 melt-freeze crusts with facets in between. Propagating ECT results with moderate load below the uppermost wind slab and below a melt-freeze crust about 2 feet below the snow surface. See pit profile for more detail. Despite warm temps and sun over the last couple of days, there was no evidence of surface warming in the upper start zones of the Black Widow or the Little Professor. A breakable melt-freeze crust was evident in the Little Professor from an elevation of about 11700 and below.
