Day started very cold and extremely windy. Significant wind transport. Wind subsided somewhat throughout the day and the sun was intense which warmed things quickly into the early afternoon. All aspects at treeline and above were heavily wind effected. We found very dense wind slab between 1 and 5 inches thick on multiple aspects but it seemed thickest on S/SE aspects. Lots of "drum like sounds" as we skinned and skied on the windslab but no wumpfs or shooting cracks. It seemed like it was bonding fairly well. Did manage to find some nice snow in the denser trees.
