Skiied into quite a remote feature & with absolute certainty of no parties in the vicinity, we chopped a few reasonable sized cornices onto a supported, lee slope (41 deg, NE, 2130m). 3 results were obtained. A small, microwaved sized cornice had no result. A fridge cornice had no result. A tractor sized cornice stepped down. We were able to trigger a wind slab 30-60cm deep that propagated 25 meters, failing on small grain facets. It did not run, as the feature was well supported by forest immediately below. Great skiing was had in sheltered areas.
