Moderate winds out of SW all day, some strong gusts, OVC skies all day, no precip. Storm approach as we left field at 4pm

Snowpack

ESE face, 9600ft, 26 degree slope, 100cm snowpack. Sun crust on any slope that was exposed over the last few days. Found 40cm of Fist hard basal facets with 4F dense slab above, the persistent slab problem exists. We performed 5 CT's that failed in the hard range at a layer about 30cms down. Seemed to fail on near surface facets. ECT did not propagate. No surface hoar or other weak layer for the new snow to fall on.
