Overcast skies, blowing snow, cold.
Snowpack
Average height of snow 90-120cm throughout the surrounding area. Copious amounts of blowing snow and wind loading on lee aspects. Cold, well preserved surface conditions below 11,300' on all aspects. Some temperature crusts can be felt on southerly aspects. Basal facets/depth hoar still an issue on most aspects we observed (N-NE-E) NTL & BTL.
Avalanche
SS-R3-D2-N-O Avalanche observed on Second Creek Headwall. Happened between 10AM and 2PM.
