Snowpack

We traveled from 8600 ft to 11600 ft on east to south-facing slopes. No collapsing, cracking, or recent avalanches were observed. ---The snowpack below about 10k ft is thin to non-existent on sunny slopes. On shady slopes there is about 50 cms of snow with the top half composed of faceting recent storm snow and the bottom half faceted snow to depth hoar.---Near treeline east and southeast slopes were about 110 cms deep with a strong slab over 40 cms of facets and depth hoar near the ground. ECTs showed propagation on the depth hoar after 20+ taps. There is also a thin layer of buried NSF about 20 cms down below the recent storm snow. ECTN on this layer.---No recent wind loading was observed or any signs of an existing Wind Slab avalanche problem.
