Weather

Overcast, snowing lightly all morning, S-1 with periods of S1. ~5cm accumulation by 1300. Temps in the 20's. Moderate W/NW wind with occasional strong gusts. Blowing snow at ridgetops.

Snowpack

30-40cm new snow (since 3/18 PM) observed, which settled to 20cm ski pen of mostly cohesionless snow near and below treeline. The exception was on exposed leeward rolls I was able to initiate small, soft windslabs with some propagation, ~15cm thick. I took this as a sign that above TL was not the place to be today....
