Calm bluebird day with a cold morning warming up to above-freezing temperatures after about 9:00 AM around 9500 feet.
Snowpack
The few shady slopes I got to were 10-20cm deep with well-developed facets making up the top 2-3cm of the snowpack on top of a P-hard (on the hand hardness scale) melt-freeze crust with another layer of well-developed, striated, 3mm facets down to the ground. Looking at the west side of the Continental divide the snowpack is very thin with rocky and terrain features breaking the snow surface everywhere. The only slopes with continuous snow coverage were the tops of leeward-facing slopes and cross-loaded gullies.
