Snowpack

The surface stayed cold even on southerly aspects until about 10am due to strong winds. On easterly and northerly aspects the new snow had been wind pressed and was well bonded with the firm crust below. We did not see any reactivity or movement in this newer snow even in steep terrain. There was evidence of old and new loose wet avalanches that peeled off the old crust at lower elevations. In many areas the dust layer was reappearing at the surface.
