Snowpack

Up to the peak, there was light snowpack on top of dirt and ice; west facing approach to summit; same route down was corn on top of solid base (below rock gardens)

Avalanche

Possible that our pup set off a slide as it looked new. It appears that our dog (48#) stepped on the cornice of SE bowl of East Ball and set off a slide from the cornice without breaking the cornice. It ran about 200 feet and the crown looked to be about 100 feet across. However, it was difficult to see since we didn't want to test the cornice strength. We are not certain but saw her footprints on the edge and she was gone for a few minutes, but returned from the area without injury
