Partly sunny, very windy, above treeline, temps a bit below freezing (without wind chill).
Snowpack
The snowpack had been sun affected below about 10,000'. We saw day old loose wet avalanches near rocky areas. Above 10k, however, the snowpack felt very wintery. There was active wind loading happening as we skinned up the top of banana bowl, and there was a firm and thick (maybe a foot) wind slab that had already developed. We saw fairly large blocks of this slab break off whenever we stepped off our skis. We were aiming to ski Dragon Tooth couloir, but the widespread wind slab made us change our minds. We observed very little heating of the snowpack as we exited.
Avalanche
Several small loose wet avalanches near treeline and near rocky areas. E and SE aspects on Flattop mountain and Notchtop mountain.
