Avalanche

Observed a recent D2 avalanche on a NE aspect. The crown was near ridgeline at 12,500' and a couple hundred feet across. Looks to have been sled triggered from lower angle terrain below on 3/18. This slide ran almost to ground, while a sympathetic release several hundred feet down ridge and on a more E aspect only ran in the top snow layer. Another slide further down valley on a similar E aspect also ran in the top snow layer. Both E facing avalanches had half the crown size of the larger NE slide though were still in the D2 range themselves.
