Weather
Mild start to the day with below freezing temperatures at pass level before 7:00 am. This quickly changed with daytime warming and ample sunshine. A light rain shower and two cracks of thunder graced Silverton around 2:00 pm.
Snowpack
The surface was frozen solid in the early am hours, but quickly softened as the sun shined and temperatures rose. Signs that water is moving through and on the surface of the snowpack was widely observed on all aspects and elevations. The snowpack is deep into the spring melt/freeze cycle and creeks are running fast. Enjoyable spring surface conditions~9:30 am on a northeast facing slope.
