Cold. Ridgetop wind loading was moderate to intense. Wind loading near treeline was light to moderate.

Snowpack

I traveled from below treeline to just above treeline on northeast to southeast aspects. In areas that had seen little wind effect, the snowpack consisted of recent storm snow on top of older facets. In wind affected areas near treeline a shallow, reactive slab was forming in the upper part of the snowpack. I saw easy ECTP results just below this slab on a southeast aspect.
