Snowpack

Dug on a northeast below treeline slope and found a 115 cm deep snowpack. Fist hard 2 mm facets sit below a thick slab. These facets are 30 to 45 cm from the ground. No ECT results on this layer. A cross-PST (non-sanctioned test) showed a result of 15/90 END. Total snow depth ranged from 115 to 140 cm on northeasterly slopes below and near treeline. No collapsing or shooting cracks.---As soon as I started traveling on southeasterly slopes, the snowpack got noisy. Numerous rumbling collapsed. The snowpack is only about 90 cm deep. Fist-hard facets at 30 to 40 cm from the ground sit on a pencil hard crust. This is the layer that collapses. I dug where I got a whumpf and got ECT results of ECTPV and ECTP3
