Snowpack
On E-SE aspects below TL, the snowpack is weak but none reactive. The snowpack's upper 10-15 cm is consistent with PP and DF. This upper layer turned moist as I was getting closer to the southerly aspect. Below the upper layer, I found an F-hard FC. My ski penetration was > 30 cm in places. Near treeline, on N-NE, the snowpack was variable. In areas where the wind deposited the recent snow, I found a 5 cm thick, P hard wind packed on top of an F hard DF. This wind-packed slab could not propagate a crack along the weaker layer underneath it.
