Reached the summit of Chickadee Peak on Saturday under blue skies. Temps ranged from -22 at the parking lot to quite warm in the alpine beneath the sun and sheltered from the wind. Higher up the wind made it feel chilly. Serious wind effect in the alpine led to tricky travel conditions in spots (ski crampons helpful) and terrible skiing in the entire alpine. Snow coverage was good, rocks were easily avoided. Treeline skiing was OK (a little crusty in spots), below treeline was good. Observed some minor cracking on hard alpine wind slabs, some very small slabs (1m wide) pushed out underfoot but did not propagate beyond that. Otherwise no recent natural activity or other instabilities observed. A great day out thanks to the company and sunny conditions.
