Snow Conditions

Snow conditions up Decker glacier (N aspect) made for slow-skinning (facet-like snow gave way underfoot, wind coming over ridge blowing snow strong at times). Variable snow conditions while traversing around Decker shoulder (~2350m, South aspect) with a combination of wind scour/chalky/styrofoam/softer, some rocky exposure. Most West facing Decker chutes had cornices. We skied a non-corniced chute around 2100m: the first few turns were pleasant, but once opened up the skiing conditions hardened up (not icy).
