Got some skinning practice up from black forest parking lot. After a little trouble finding our way up we stayed in the trees on the east peak shoulder, took some pics of smokers bowl and rode back into big white inbounds. Show was crusty along the ridgeline but the backside of smoker's bowl seems well filled in and we noted a group of 2 skiers and a snowboarder drop in from the summit. Also met a group of 2 skiers on the skin track up who had done several laps that day. Snow on the way down was pristine and deep from the storm last week. We stayed out of high angles and off the summit, and weren't able to trigger slides from ski cutting small test slopes.
