Feather Cleveland area

Feather Cleveland area observations from Monday Jan 3. Saw lots of terrain and aspects. Cold sunny day with a moderate steady north east wind that made the day unconfortable. 20cm of blower pow overlying another 20cm of denser snow sitting on harder windpress (or wind hammered) surface. A few avalanche oberserved. One healthy size 2 below the summit of cleveland north east, likely cornice triggered (or rockfall), the same spot that usually avalanche during storms, less than 24hrs old, crown about 40 50cm. North east aspect. One skier triggered size 1.5 in steeper southwest aspect, 15 20cm crown loose snow but ran far and fast. And numerous small natural release in a few locations that were just getting kissed by those pesky north winds (stronger along down glacier locations). Good reminder that although the snow looks blower pow, it doesnt take much wind for it to slightly transform on the surface and gain some potential to be triggered. Sluffs and loose dry even if small can run fast in steep terrain!
