IAG, AST1 course Mt. Washington

Approx. 40 - 60 cm of HST overlaying a crust. Producing only hard resistant planar shears. However, the right convexity might produce slabs, as this accidental clearly shows. Did not observe Alpine but would very much caution downgrading TL and Alpine too soon to moderate, since I'm sure more of this kind of stuff is still lurking.

Saw tracks leading into avalanche, it broke right at the skiers turn, saw that skier than skied down on bed surface, so must not have been caught. Did not witness avalanche.
