Ridge above Hanging lake

Went for a look above hanging lake. Dug pit at max elevation of 1600 m. Had realistic expectations for ride quality on the day and they were validated. Temperatures read at 2.2 @1100 m, 2.6 @ 1440 m, -1 @1600 m. Snow quality was marginal at best on descent pitch, travel on summer trail from base of descent pitch to parking lot was not ideal, with many open creeks and sticky melt freeze snow.

Dug two pits on nw and wnw aspects performed both column test and extended column test, both producing no results. Storm snow on crust at 6 c/m down; other crust layers observed at 13,18,36,42 down. Base very faceted .
