While cutting the back of the test plot column, there was a sudden collapse of the column X2, down 30cm, (V) on the crust. Below crust were facets and (V), fist hardness. On very steep slopes or steep gullies, a skier/boarder could start a loose avalanche. That extra snow weight may cause the crust to propagate a larger slide.
