Weather

Sunny with ridge top clouds and high winds above 12,500" on ski Hayden NE face

Snowpack

New snow has bonded quite well to the old surface and we felt no settlements nor saw shooting cracks today. However there is significant load on the Feb dust layer which has weak facets on either side of the crust. High winds have created a significant soft slab above 12,000' on the leeward sides of high ridgelines which we avoided today. The wind Slab diminished as we approached treeline. SE aspects below treeline were warm with wet snow in the top several inches today. The sun crust should be well developed on the S and SE aspect tomorrow above and below treeline.

Avalanche

None observed.
