Overnight rains have drenched the snowpack in Rocky Mountain National Park. Early morning observations from skiers and climbers is that the new rain has combined with the existing (wintery still) snow and created very active conditions on all aspects. louds seem to be holding in warm air during the evening and the snow pack above treeline is not always freezing overnight. Not enjoying a corn cycle yet...
Snowpack
Avalanches are traveling into and sometimes across the flats with some impressive debris piles. Guestimates on debris depth is up to 5 meters. Most recent activity was reported this morning (0900am) in the Emerald Lake area. Sounds like several large large slides came down the Dragontail Couloir and the East Couloir of Hallet Peak.
