Snowpack

Sand mountain's South east bowl slid on us today! A buddy was going across the top of the cornice about twenty feet back from the edge and the whole shelf broke under him. His sled went down and he was able to jump off and stay on top. We were all sitting in the bottom and made it out of the way in time.....barely! The cornice was about sixty feet tall and the snow depth was probably Two feet deep under the cornice. The snow build in the bottom was about ten to fifteen feet deep.
