Weather

Lowering clouds late morning, with skies obscured and snowfall starting just afternoon. Mostly S1; big, fat flakes w little wind. Temps dropped w arrival of snow. Snowfall decreased w elevation.

Snowpack

Hard, icy crusts on any sunny slope. Thinner in trees/ shaded areas but still present. Didn't soften a whit. Shady slopes still soft, settled, dry powder. Sastrugi, drifts and scouring on windward slopes near/ above treeline. No collapses or cracking.

Avalanche

Numerous old crowns on steep, northerly slopes. Often mid-slope, and connecting across terrain features. Deepest looked to be 3-5' deep.
