Snowpack
We wanted to look at northerly terrain as southerly terrain has proven to be quite touchy in the last few days. Digging near tree line on a NE aspect we found 145cm snowpack with the christmas slab accounting for 100cm of that. The upper snow pack had a thin 1cm wind created 'crust' (not a temperature crust) with facets below it that proved to be a layer of concern once we get more snow on it. This layer was 33cm down from surface. ECT24 Q2. Did not pop out but was a clean shear. Below this was the christmas slab which proved to be quite stout and did not fail on ECT.
