Vail pass near ptarmigan peak North aspect 11,000 ft. up thru 12,000 ft. Temps mid 20's, sunny, calm winds

3-5 mm surface hoar event on the night of January 27th. Photos were taken @ 3pm on the afternoon of January 28th. this layer stayed intact on northerly aspects between 11,000-12,000ft. This layer was easily identified on Friday January 29th on these same aspects and elevations. Layer was buried by an inch of new snow in some places or still on surface during day of January 29th.
