Weather

Beautiful crisp day today. Winds were light with little cloud cover until the afternoon. This area seemed to have picked up 8-10 inches of new snow during this weeks cycle.

Snowpack

8-10 inches of very light and dry snow sits on the surface of the snowpack. This layer is going to be an issue once it gets buried. When driving the end of a ski pole in the snowpack you could feel the holiday storm layer in the middle of the pack. This layer was resistant to pushing the pole through, but sitting over weaker snow.

Avalanche

Long running Loose Dry point release off of steep rocky terrain features.
