Weather

Scattered clouds - mostly high, thin cirrus. Winds calm all elevations/ locations we traveled. Inversions in AM; stayed cold in shade but pleasant in sun.

Snowpack

Settled, supportive slab over older snow. Much more coverage, esp > 10500'.

Avalanche

Crowns visible on many - most - steep, leeward slopes. Drifted/ covered in substantial amounts of new snow (30 cm?) so exact outlines not clear. Most broke just below ridgelines, and Crowns extend down sides of gullies and ridges. Most appeared to have run during the 12/21-2 cycle. A few exceptions that seemed fresher - these on sunny slopes. Triggered a few small harmless sluffs on slopes steeper than 40*.
