Great day. Basin leading to North Maroon's north face. Sun hit the entire region very early (7-8 am) and heated things up quickly. Wind from the SW kept the snowpack on upper elevations (>12.5k) very cold and firm. Elevation approximately upper 11k range as we just got back to tree line. Terrain steepness probably mid 30s. Temperatures changed drastically from the upper basin of north maroon (12k and up) to where that slide occurred. Very slushy snow on the slope leading from north maroon upper basin.

Felt good above 12.5k. Perfect for kick stepping crampons and stabbing axes.
