Weather

HN/W; 13"/2.3". HST/W; 21"/3/3". Conditions gradually improved after daybreak. Winds decreased significantly mid morning. At the same snowfall increased with periods of 1"/hr into mid day. 3-4" of light density snow fell during that period.

Snowpack

The fresh high density snow really set up. Ski penetration was <10cm.

Avalanche

Visibility was poor during most of the field trip, but numerous R2/D2 naturals were observed below TL on Nerly aspects. Better visibility on Sunday should provide a chance for additional obs.
