Cold and Clear. Winds were light from the S and SW. Very sparse light wind-loading was observed.
Snowpack
The snowpack in the Ophir area is thin. The deepest pockets of snow look to be on northerly slopes high alpine in gully and coulior features, but most don't hold a continuous snow field. Facets were observed in pit dug on a NW slope around 11,200 feet. Facets were also noted on the surface of the snowpack. The snowpack was thin and difficult to navigate on skis at lower elevations. Near and Below treeline rocks and down timber remain the largest hazard.
