Overcast with light snow.
Snowpack
Total depth was 3.5'-4'. 10"-12" of new snow on top a of a more consolidated layer. Layer closest to ground was loose grainy snow. A pit was dug at approxiametly 11,000 feet.
Avalanche
Avalanche was triggered by snowboarder when entering area. Total size is estimated to be 300 yds wide by 500 yds long. Broke all the way to ground. Snowboarded was caught but managed to stay on top. He was carried down to where pictures were taken (250 yds?) There were no injuries and partner had them in sight at all times from above.
