Snowpack

very good snow below TL. super mellow, west facing glade just below the start of the blady alpine ridge. shallow snow pack with firm october snow on the ground, which made for supportable turns. powder was about top buckle deep and fist density. even with the strong winds above tree line, the sub alpine was pleasant for skin conditions and LOW is a good call for sure. no cracking or collapsing, and we only noticed one natural, which was above the north fork of the tiger road drainage: above tree line on a corniced ridge and the slide was no more than R1-/D2, most likely less than 200 feet. we never looked into the leeward side of the mountain. part of me was surprised to see the danger increase around 11am. for sure blowing on the ridges all morning but looking at the east side of the 10 mile the appearance in general seemed to be more scouring than depositing.
