Snowpack

The lower snowpack in most paths has turned to a more springlike regime in general. However, the upper 10 to 35 cm hold weaknesses from the past week's snowfall, wind and spell of cooler temperatures. This upper snow will likely turn towards MF with the upcoming stretch of warm and sunny days and seasonably cool nights. So far the warm-up after the last storm has only produced harmless loose rollers on steep sunny slopes. The last wind event left pink desert dust on the snow surface. This is most apparent on sunny slopes. where the new snow has melted down a bit, concentrating the pink particulate.
